First results from the Greek Ministry of Interior show that SYRIZA has a clear win over New Democracy but whether SYRIZA will be able to gain a majority government remains to be seen.
The latest scenario given so far by Singular Logic shows that SYRIZA will concentrate between 149 – 151 seats.
According to Singular Logic seven parties will manage to win the battle to enter Greek parliament but things become hazy for the third and fourth spot.
Earlier results so far show that third place belongs to the far-right Golden Dawn Party with The Potami (The River) in fourth place. Golden Dawn, a Neo Nazi party whose party leader and majority of MPs are in prison for creating a criminal organisation cast a shadow over the Greek elections.
Despite several optimistic predictions by PASOK party members the PASOK is in sixth position – possibly a historic defeat for the socialist party – with a marginal difference from the communist party KKE
According to early exit poll results the Independent Greeks seem to be tonights surprise and manage to win the battle for the much contested Parliament seats.
However George Papandreou’s party is battling till the bitter end with everyone wondering whether he will manage to gain the 3% needed. At the moment his party has a 2.54% and his chances are slim.
Vasilis Leventis was a big surprise managing to concentrate 1.86%, while Apostolos Gletsos’ party Telia (Full stop) concentrated 1.69%.
Finally, DIMAR (the Democratic Left) has been wiped off the Greek political map.
