Τα μέλη της υπηρεσίας πρώτων βοηθειών “βρήκαν το άψυχο σώμα της (Ουίτνεϊ) Χιούστον στην μπανιέρα του δωματίου της στο ξενοδοχείο” που διέμενε, μετέδωσε το αμερικανικό δίκτυο ABC.
Η αστυνομία του Μπέβερλι Χιλς μέχρι στιγμής δεν έχει σχολιάσει την πληροφορία αυτή.
Σύμφωνα με το Foxnews, ο σωματοφύλακάς της ήταν αυτός που εντόπισε πρώτος το άψυχο σώμα της τραγουδίστριας. Ο θάνατός της διαπιστώθηκε χθες στις 15:55 τοπική ώρα (01:55 ώρα Ελλάδος σήμερα), 12 λεπτά αφού ειδοποιήθηκε η υπηρεσία πρώτων βοηθειών από το περιβάλλον της.
Τα αίτια του θανάτου της παραμένουν άγνωστα ενώ η νεκροψία θα πραγμνατοποιηθεί σήμερα ή αύριο, σύμφωνα με το ABC.
Η Γουίτνεϊ Χιούστον διέμενε εδώ και πολλές ημέρες σε δωμάτιο στον τέταρτο όροφο του ξενοδοχείου Μπέβερλι Χίλτον, στο Λος Άντζελες, όπου θα γινόταν πάρτι στα πλαίσια της τελετής της απονομής των βραβείων Γκράμι.
Υπό τη σκιά του θανάτου της διάσημης τραγουδίστριας, την παραμονή της απονομής τους, αναμένεται να δοθούν αργότερα σήμερα τα 54α βραβεία Γκράμι.
Η Ουίτνεϊ Χιούστον είχε τιμηθεί με έξι Γκράμι.
Είχε πουλήσει 170 εκατομμύρια δίσκους και είχε πρωταγωνιστήσει με μεγάλη επιτυχία στην ταινία “Ο Σωματοφύλακας” το 1992.
Χαμός επικρατεί στο Twitter από την πρώτη στιγμή που έγινε γνωστή η είδηση για τον απρόσμενο θάνατο της τραγουδίστριας. Ανάμεσα στα σχόλια του απλου κόσμου βρίσκονται και αυτά πολλών διασήμων όπως της Rihanna, της Mariah Carey, της Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry και πολλών άλλων.
